Job summary

MDH's LTSSMaryland Architecture Team seeks an experienced Development Architect to serve as the senior technical authority for architecture, standards, and enterprise design. Lead software development governance, QA, and cross-functional technical reviews while guiding complex integrations and vendor activities.

Responsibilities include establishing development standards, providing strategic technical guidance, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least seven (7) years of IT and business/industry experience.
• At least three (3) years as a technical expert in an IT organization and vendor oversight.

Responsibilities

• Direct application architecture, development standards, and software practices for LTSSMaryland.
• Review vendor and internal development activities for design and contract compliance.
• Perform code and architecture reviews and QA assessments for security and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and design recommendations for complex enhancements and integrations.
• Support development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of business-critical software.
• Establish development standards, architectural patterns, and governance practices.
• Advise program leadership on system design, risk mitigation, deployment, and production support.
• Mentor technical staff and vendor leads on methodologies and best practices.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative LTSSMaryland solutions.
