Job summary

Sabel Systems Technology Solutions is seeking a senior Appian architect to lead enterprise-grade Appian design, architecture, and target-state definition across multiple applications in support of DoD objectives.

You will drive environment strategies, integration patterns, ETL migrations, and data architecture while ensuring secure, scalable solutions. Strong leadership, governance, and Jira-based agile oversight are essential.

Qualifications

• Citizenship or eligibility for security clearance.
• 8–10+ years in software development; 5–6+ years in Appian architecture/lead.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering/Math or related field.
• Appian Lead Developer Certification (L4+) or equivalent.
• Experience defining target-state architecture, environment strategy, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and target-state for Appian solutions across applications.
• Define target-state architecture for environments and migrations.
• Translate complex DoD requirements into enterprise technical specifications.
• Architect and guide API integrations (REST, SOAP, JDBC).
• Oversee ETL and data migration across Appian environments.
• Define SQL/data architecture standards and optimize schemas.
• Own Appian security architecture; support ATO and security controls.
• Enforce coding standards and architecture governance; lead reviews.
• Guide Agile/Scrum processes; prioritize technical backlog; coordinate teams.
• Lead escalation on complex issues and drive preventive architecture changes.
• Lead architecture demos and translate tradeoffs to business terms.
• Mentor Sr/Lead Developers and establish Appian best practices.
