Job summary

Hybrid is seeking an Apparel Contract - Technical Designer in Cypress, CA. You will own the technical design process from concept to final production, ensuring high-quality construction, fit, and performance across multiple accounts.

With minimal supervision, you will lead tech pack creation, guide fit sessions, supervise sample development, and collaborate with design, merchandising, and production to deliver market-ready products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in technical design or a senior-level role within the apparel industry.
• Proven experience managing private label development and working with multiple accounts.
• Strong background in garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fitting processes.
• Proficient in technical design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Gerber, or similar).
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design process from concept to final production with detailed tech packs.
• Lead fit evaluations, assess samples, and manage fit comment reviews.
• Oversee sample development from concept to final samples.
• Evaluate garment construction and provide improvements for design and cost.
• Manage private label process per account to meet specs and timelines.
• Validate grade rules per account for sizing consistency.
• Liaise with vendors and factories for technical adjustments.
• Review and modify patterns to align with tech specs.
• Collaborate across design, production, and merchandising teams.
• Own quality assurance and resolve issues during development.
• Manage multiple projects with deadlines.
