Job summary

Forward Financing LLC is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to proactively identify vulnerabilities in our software, including AI-assisted systems. You will lead manual and AI-enabled pentesting, conduct secure reviews of web apps, APIs, and AWS infrastructure, and help shape our testing strategies for AI-built code.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in application security, offensive security, or product security.
• Hands-on pentesting and code-review depth across web applications, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• A hacker mentality and curiosity about how systems break.
• Interest in using AI to solve problems in workflows or systems being tested.
• Understanding of AI/LLM attack surface: prompt injection, insecure agent tool use, and vulnerabilities in AI-generated code.

Responsibilities

• Conduct manual penetration tests across systems and build AI-assisted tooling to extend testing scope.
• Define how we pentest AI; bring ideas for testing LLM applications, agents, and agent-generated code.
• Triage findings from SAST tools; fix real vulnerabilities and tune rules to reduce false positives.
• Perform secure code review across web apps, APIs, and AWS infrastructure.
• Build tooling and security services within the Forward application stack, including AI-assisted tooling.
• Support the test-to-production review process so AI-built work is security-reviewed before promotion.
• Explain risk to engineers in detail to help prioritize fixes.
