Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver comprehensive care in designated primary or specialty areas. You will diagnose, treat, educate and refer patients, while serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.

Responsibilities include supervising APP students, collaborating with physicians, maintaining licensure, and staying current with best practices. Must have strong leadership, communication, and patient-centered care skills.

Qualifications

• 3 plus years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performing the same or similar job duties.
• OR 5 plus years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in any field.
• Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Military Training Network.
• Must meet and maintain licensing and registration requirements as delineated by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures.
• Physician Assistant: Current, valid Physician Assistant licensure from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants.
• Physician Assistant: Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• Nurse Practitioner: Current RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
• Nurse Practitioner: Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with authorization to practice as a Family, or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Nurse Practitioner: Active certification as Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANPCP or WHCNP by National Certification Corporation.
• CNM: Current RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
• CNM: Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with authorization to practice as a Nurse Midwife by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• CNM: Active certification as CNM by AMCB or its predecessor.
• Clinical Nurse Specialist: Current RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
• Clinical Nurse Specialist: Active certification as CNS by ANCC or AACNCC.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical practitioner services in designated specialty area including histories, exams, assessments, tests, diagnoses and plan of care.
• Records health history, findings, treatments, and recommendations accurately and efficiently.
• Educates patients and families to ensure self-management and follow-up.
• Trains and supervises APP students and contributes to resident education.
• Participates in PHHS education activities and keeps current with professional developments.
• Collaborates with staff to maintain positive working relationships and patient-centered care.
• Maintains compliance with rules, regulations and licensure requirements; supports quality and accreditation initiatives.
• Identifies workflow improvements and participates in QA/QI projects.
