Job summary

Huntington is building the next generation of banking experiences, led by a technology leader to guide API Gateway and Developer Portal initiatives. The role focuses on secure, scalable platforms enabling engineers across Huntington to build and integrate with confidence.

You will shape strategy with product, architecture, and security teams, drive reliability, and foster a culture of high-performance engineering and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of technology experience with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience leading software or platform engineering teams.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Apigee X, including policy development and analytics.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth 2.0, and API governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team for Huntington’s API Gateway and Developer Portal.
• Own end-to-end technology delivery including planning, staffing, and reliability.
• Develop and execute strategy for API Gateway, Developer Portal, and AI Gateway capabilities.
• Ensure availability, scalability, and performance through automation and observability.
• Own platform health, incident management, and disaster recovery preparedness.
• Collaborate across architecture, product, security, and engineering to align roadmaps.
• Drive platform adoption through developer engagement, standards, and documentation.
