Job summary

Tuknik Government Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an API Integration Engineer with a Secret security clearance to support a U.S. Army program in the DC Metro area.

This is a contingent recruiting profile with the opening and staffing subject to final contract authorization. The role focuses on designing, building, securing, and monitoring interfaces between legacy systems and modern APIs, including REST, SOAP, data mappings, and security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
• 5+ years designing and supporting enterprise integrations and APIs.
• Experience with REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, schemas, authentication, certificates, and monitoring.
• Experience integrating workflow platforms, relational databases, and external systems under change control.
• U.S. citizenship and active security clearance or eligibility at start of performance.

Responsibilities

• Inventory inbound/outbound interfaces, owners, schemas, endpoints, and monitoring needs.
• Develop interface decision matrices, ICDs, data mappings, and procedures.
• Design secure REST, SOAP, and event-based integrations using approved patterns.
• Create API facades/adapters preserving legacy contracts during transition.
• Support interfaces with PIEE, GEX, GFEBS, SAM.gov, FPDS, and Army services.
• Implement authentication, certificates, encryption, auditing, and error handling.
• Develop tests for contracts, schemas, transformations, and performance.
• Instrument interfaces with logs, health checks, and dashboards.
• Coordinate network/identity/DNS/certificates changes before cutover.
• Support migration, parallel operation, conformance, security, and retirement.
