Job summary

Steampunk is seeking an Integration Architect to lead API, integration, and micro‑services initiatives within a DevSecOps framework. You will translate stakeholder needs into scalable integration interfaces and contribute hands‑on delivery across cloud platforms, API management, and secure coding practices.

You will mentor junior engineers, document architectures, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet security and reliability goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.
• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non‑IT field with 2 years related IT experience.
• 8 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• 8 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket.
• 8 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages.
• 8 Years of Experience with one or more integrations technologies – specifically, with Java integrations libraries such as Apache Camel, Spring Boot, and JDBC.
• Experience developing API Management solutions and micro‑services.

Responsibilities

• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers.
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results.
• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixes.
• Develop APIs, micro-services and integrations to ensure system integrations are functional.
• Design reusable assets, components, standards, frameworks, and processes for API projects.
• Advise teams on performance, scalability, reliability, monitoring, and operational concerns of integration solutions.
• Work with stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into integration interfaces.
• Create and provide technical documentation for integrations to non-technical individuals.
• Document as‑is state, perform gap analysis, and produce options and recommendations.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute as an individual contributor.
• Engineer and implement improvements for services provided.
• Present regular status updates and cross-train team members.
