Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a highly skilled REST API Developer to join our government contracting-focused team in the United States. You will design and implement APIs using OpenAPI on Spring Boot and Camel, ensuring secure integrations with OAuth2/OpenID/JWT and various gateways such as Kong or Apigee.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, manage releases across environments, and apply best practices in SDLC and project management while delivering high-quality, scalable solutions for federal clients.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on information technology implementation experience.
• Minimum 3 years of REST API development designing complex integration networks.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Camel microservices development.

Responsibilities

• Design REST APIs using OpenAPI and implement on Spring Boot and Camel stacks.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver release activities.
• Manage deployments between sandbox environments and production.
• Ensure security requirements (OAuth2/OpenID/JWT) are implemented.
• Provide release readiness reviews and stakeholder communications.
