Job summary

Unacast is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our API team, delivering customer-facing and internal APIs with fast querying of large datasets. You will translate business problems into technology solutions and oversee the full application life cycle.

This role requires strong Java/Spring, SQL, Snowflake, and AWS experience, plus collaboration with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable data solutions in a remote-friendly setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java 8+ development experience with Spring for REST APIs.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in Snowflake SQL.
• AWS experience across services and deployment.
• Experience handling JSON/GeoJSON data formats.
• Proficiency in Scala or Python and modern scripting tools.
• Excellent communication skills and Agile software practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to translate initiatives into technical requirements.
• Develop customer-facing and internal APIs with emphasis on fast large-dataset querying.
• Contribute to design and maintenance of the Snowflake data lake powering APIs.
• Create internal and external documentation for projects and APIs.
• Produce data, metrics, and visualizations for algorithm verification and optimization.
