Job summary

540 is seeking a Senior API Solutions Architect to lead the architecture, governance, and strategy for secure, scalable APIs across internal platform components and external mission systems. You will collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity, and stakeholders to align with DoW standards and enterprise integration frameworks.

Responsibilities include establishing reusable patterns, guiding API gateway configuration, and ensuring backward compatibility and security across distributed services,

Qualifications

• 9+ years of API architecture, integration, or software engineering.
• Experience building enterprise APIs for large distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of REST, OpenAPI, JSON Schema, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and governance of APIs across distributed systems.
• Define API strategy, standards, and governance processes.
• Guide API gateways, policies, developer portals, and lifecycle management using Apigee and Gravitee.
• Establish versioning, backward compatibility, and security patterns.
• Mentor engineers on API design and governance.
