Job summary

Birge & Held is seeking a Service Technician III to maintain and repair our 256-unit Chesapeake Landing community in Dayton, OH. The role requires strong technical skills, timely completion of service requests, and teamwork under the Operations Manager.

Ideal candidates have HVAC and EPA refrigerant handling certifications, plus at least two years in apartment maintenance. Travel between properties may be required with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated success in apartment maintenance, construction, or a related field.
• EPA and HVAC certifications are required for the role.
• Willingness to obtain certification upon hire if not already certified.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for property travel.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities are essential.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety practices is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and common areas for cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC units, plumbing, electrical systems, and grounds.
• Complete unit turnovers within five working days when directed.
• Execute work orders promptly and coordinate with operations staff.
• Maintain grounds and assist other assets as needed.
• Provide timely reports and be available for on-call emergencies.
