Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking an AP Senior Accountant to ensure accurate accounts payable, timely closes, and strong internal controls. The role supports Operations and Finance, driving continuous improvement in reporting and processes.

The successful candidate will lead AP month-end activities, prepare journal entries, and collaborate across departments to maintain financial integrity and audit readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience with significant accounts payable responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accruals, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control principles.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis, and audit support documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead AP-related month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and review AP journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjusting entries.
• Ensure liabilities and expenses are recorded in the correct accounting period.
• Review AP aging, invoice holds, and outstanding transactions for timely resolution.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate reconciling items, aging balances, variances, and unusual transactions.
• Analyze AP activity and trends to identify reporting issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide financial analysis supporting the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Support and strengthen AP controls and workflows.
