Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking an experienced AOV Senior Tester for a 4–6 week contract with 100% travel. workload includes diagnostic testing, maintenance, and field repairs of air-operated valves at customer sites, with strict safety and quality requirements.

The role requires five years of hands-on AOV maintenance, mechanical/electrical knowledge, and reading blueprints. U.S. Navy nuclear background is preferred. Expect overtime, shifts, and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational, technical training or EPRI qualifications.
• Five (5) years of hands-on diagnostic testing and AOV/actuator valve maintenance experience.
• Mechanical and electrical experience; ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• U.S. Navy nuclear background or equivalent training in reactor maintenance or operations.
• Pass pre-employment and employment screening as required.

Responsibilities

• Report to the On-Site Manager.
• Perform functional and post-maintenance diagnostic testing, corrective and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Air-Operated Valves (AOVs).
• Ensure AOV performance meets design and vendor specifications, including seating force, stroke length, and position control.
• Perform leak testing, valve adjustments, and alignment checks using gauges and tools.
• Support field troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and continuous improvement plans.
• Complete work orders with accurate documentation and logs.
• Maintain safety and follow nuclear program norms and PPE requirements.
