Job summary

LeoForce is seeking an experienced AOI Programmer in Carson City to develop, optimize, and maintain automated optical inspection programs for high‑mix PCB assemblies. You will work with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to reduce defects, improve first-pass yield, and ensure strict process control during SMT production.

The role requires 2+ years programming or operating AOI equipment, knowledge of IPC standards, and experience interpreting Gerber drawings and BOMs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience programming or operating AOI equipment in electronics manufacturing.
• High school diploma or equivalent; electronics-related training preferred.
• MRP experience and knowledge required.
• Strong understanding of SMT assembly processes and PCB inspection methodologies.
• Ability to read assembly drawings, Gerber files, BOMs.
• Proficiency using inspection and troubleshooting tools in high-volume production.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, validate, and maintain AOI inspection programs for PCB assemblies.
• Fine-tune inspection parameters to improve defect detection while minimizing false calls.
• Troubleshoot AOI issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Review inspection results, identify trends, collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing to resolve defects.
• Evaluate PCB assemblies for solder quality, placement, polarity, orientation, and workmanship.
• Support NPI by developing inspection criteria and AOI programs during product launches.
• Verify inspection coverage and ensure compliance with customer, IPC, and internal quality requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and verification on AOI equipment.
• Collaborate with SMT operators, process engineers, and quality personnel to improve yields.
• Maintain documentation for inspection programs, changes, and troubleshooting.
• Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
