Job summary

Jobot is seeking an AOI Programmer with extensive Pemtron experience to support PCB assembly operations. You will develop, maintain, and optimize AOI programs, ensuring inspection accuracy while reducing false failures and improving production efficiency.

The role requires hands-on SMT knowledge, soldering and PCB inspection expertise, and collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing teams. Excellent growth potential and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of AOI programming or operation in electronics manufacturing.
• MRP experience and knowledge required.
• Strong understanding of SMT assembly processes and PCB inspection methodologies.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and solder joint acceptance criteria.
• Ability to interpret assembly drawings, Gerber files, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Proficiency with inspection and troubleshooting tools in a high-volume production environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• IPC-A-610 Certification preferred.
• Experience with Koh Young or Pemtron machines preferred.
• Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume PCB environments preferred.
• Familiarity with SPI, X-ray inspection and SMT process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Create, validate, and maintain AOI inspection programs for PCB assemblies.
• Fine-tune inspection parameters to reduce false calls and improve detection.
• Troubleshoot AOI issues and implement corrective actions.
• Review results, identify trends, and collaborate with QA and Manufacturing.
• Evaluate solder quality, component placement, polarity, orientation.
• Support NPI with AOI criteria during launches.
• Verify coverage and compliance with IPC and customer requirements.
• Perform maintenance, calibration, and verification on AOI equipment.
• Work with SMT operators and process engineers to boost yields.
• Maintain documentation for programs and changes.
• Assist root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
