Ford’s EVDD team seeks an experienced Android framework engineer to design and implement core components of the Android platform for IVI systems. You will build HALs, AIDL interfaces, and services, partnering with product, UX, and hardware teams to deliver reliable, high-performance software.

The role emphasizes deep Android OS knowledge, Binder IPC, and system-level optimization, with a strong focus on quality and documentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience, focused on Android
• Experience with Android OS internals and lifecycle management
• Experience developing hardware abstraction layers (HAL) and IPC mechanisms

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core Android framework components and libraries
