Job summary

Fanatics Collectibles is seeking a Senior Engineer, Android (Unified Experience) in New York City. You will own shared Android foundations and identity flows across Live, Marketplace, and Collections, enabling faster shipping for multiple apps.

You will work with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and a modular Gradle architecture, driving migrations, deep linking, and end-to-end ownership with a focus on performance and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building consumer-facing Android apps at scale.
• Proficiency in Kotlin with coroutines and Flow.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and navigation.
• Experience with unidirectional state management (MVI or similar).
• Strong multi-module Gradle architecture and module boundaries.
• Hands-on dependency injection (Hilt, Dagger, or equivalent).
• CI/CD experience (Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Fastlane).
• Testing discipline with JUnit, Turbine, Robolectric, and Compose tests.
• Static analysis tools (ktlint, detekt).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship shared Android foundations and reusable modules used by multiple apps.
• Own identity, session, and entitlement flows across surfaces.
• Lead migrations and consolidations with minimal user impact.
• Own end-to-end features: API contracts, state handling, Compose UI, testing, release.
• Build deep linking, navigation, and cross-surface handoffs.
• Write tests with unit, Flow, and Compose testing; ensure real assertions.
• Instrument releases with event tracking, feature flags, and monitoring.
• Own Android performance: startup time, scrolling smoothness, memory usage.
• Review PRs, coach on quality, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team’s quality bar.
