Fanatics Collectibles in New York City seeks an experienced Android engineer to join the Instant Rips team, delivering the live-break commerce experience on Fanatics Live. You will design and ship features for auctions, chat, streams, and marketplace, owning them end-to-end with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and real-time data integration.

We value senior ownership, strong testing, performance, and mentor- ship for junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building consumer Android apps at scale.
• Kotlin & Jetpack Compose proficiency.
• Coroutines, Flow, and reactive UI experience.
• Solid architecture and testing practices.
• Experience with real-time data streams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship production Android features across the live-break experience: auctions, stream viewing, chat, marketplace, and collector tools.
• Own features end-to-end — client and API contracts, state and business logic, Compose UI, testing, release, and production health.
• Build real-time experiences that remain responsive through reconnects and peak-load events.
• Write meaningful test coverage across unit, integration, and UI layers for Coroutines, Flow, and failure paths.
• Improve performance, stability, accessibility, security, and reliability across Android devices and OS versions.
• Diagnose production issues using observability, analytics, experimentation, and customer feedback.
• Review pull requests to surface defects, prioritize matters, and coach on tradeoffs.
• Contribute to architectural decisions involving modularization, state management, DI, networking, and persistence.
• Partner with Product, Design, backend, iOS, Data, and platform teams to deliver cohesive experiences.
• Mentor engineers earlier in their careers and raise the quality bar.
