Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking an experienced Android architect to design and build native and cross‑platform mobile applications. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

The role involves unit testing, performance optimization, and supporting the entire app lifecycle from concept to release. You will work with Kotlin or Java, Jetpack Compose, React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience in native Android development and cross‑platform approaches.
• Proven skills in writing unit tests and ensuring app robustness.
• Familiarity with modern Android architectures and Kotlin/Java ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and build native and cross platform applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Work on feature development, defect fixes and improving application performance.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Design and build libraries/frameworks/applications for the Android platform.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Supporting the entire application lifecycle from concept to design, testing, release, and support.
• Work with Agile methodologies.
• Hands on experience of working with Coroutines.
• Good knowledge of Security guidelines applied in mobile app development.
• Knowledge of Version Control and CI-CD.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience in implementing APIs and third-party SDK.
• You are a problem solver with good analytical skills.
• Soft spoken, team player and good communication skills and negotiations.
• Proficient in native Android development using Kotlin or Java and frameworks like Jetpack Compose or the Android SDK, with a solid understanding of Android architecture. Also experienced in cross-platform mobile development using tools such as React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin
