Job summary

Apium Swarm Robotics seeks a senior Android developer to own operator-facing apps for planning, monitoring, and control of drone swarms. You will render GIS data and DTED on rugged Android devices, and implement low-latency telemetry and command paths over mesh radios and cellular links. Travel for field tests is expected.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ship features for real-world demonstrations, guided by field feedback and mission requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android development with Kotlin, Java acceptable as fallback.
• Experience rendering GIS data on mobile with map tiles and overlays.
• Strong knowledge of DTED elevation data for terrain features.
• Experience with real-time low-latency data pipelines and sockets/WebSockets.
• Ability to design UI for rugged, sunlit outdoor environments on handheld devices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Android apps for swarm planning, monitoring, and control.
• Integrate GIS layers and DTED into map-based mission interfaces.
• Implement real-time telemetry and control over UDP/TCP/WebSockets/MQTT.
• Collaborate with backend, autonomy, and field teams for field demonstrations.
