Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III in Columbus, OH to join Self Directed Investing within Consumer & Community Banking. You will contribute to secure, scalable mobile solutions and collaborate across teams to deliver trusted digital experiences.

Responsibilities include designing and delivering production code, automating issues, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools while ensuring security and quality throughout the SDLC. This is a full-time role based on-site in Columbus.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• 3+ years of combined software/application development experience in mobile development.
• 1+ year of AI engineering experience building native mobile apps.
• Strong Android development background in Kotlin.
• Familiarity with MVVM, MVP, MVC patterns.
• Experience with modern native mobile dev tools and systems incl. git, Xcode, CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager, CoreData, Android Studio, Robolectric, Mockito, Espresso, RxJava, Dagger, Retrofit.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise AI-assisted dev tools with ability to evaluate outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling within team practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development (standups, sprints).

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions and design, develop, and troubleshoot beyond routine approaches.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' code.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation and improve operational stability.
• Leverage AI coding assist tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity; validate outputs via peer review and tests.
• Apply SDLC tools and enterprise AI capabilities to improve automation value.
• Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architecture and applicability.
• Lead communities of practice to drive adoption of new technologies.
