Job summary

New York Technology Partners in Chicago is seeking an experienced Android Developer to build high-performance mobile applications focused on secure video streaming and DRM. You will implement Widevine and collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver a seamless user experience.

The role requires strong Java and Kotlin development, expertise in Android media frameworks, MVVM/MVP patterns, and experience with RESTful and WebSocket APIs.

Qualifications

• Proven Android development experience with Java and Kotlin.
• Experience with DRM, secure storage, encryption and app security.
• Knowledge of Android media frameworks and MVVM/MVP architecture patterns.
• Experience with RESTful and WebSocket APIs; AWS cloud services.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Android applications for secure video streaming.
• Implement DRM technologies such as Widevine to protect digital content.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Troubleshoot complex Android, media, and performance issues.
• Optimize media rendering, UI performance, and application scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices.
• Integrate RESTful and WebSocket APIs and support cloud-based services.
• Manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.
