Job summary

Artech L.L.C. seeks an experienced Android BSP / Kernel Engineer to join our hardware-focused team. You will build, customize, and maintain AOSP environments and contribute to Linux/Android kernel and device driver development.

The role requires hands-on experience with Android BSPs, system-level debugging, and hardware/software integration across the SDLC to bring up new features on Android-based devices. Strong C/C++ skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with AOSP builds and Android platform development.
• Android BSP experience is mandatory.
• Expertise in low-level Linux/Android kernel development.
• Hands-on debugging of kernel and device driver code.
• Strong system-level debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and software engineering processes.
• Experience with hardware bring-up and hardware/software integration.
• Proficient in C/C++ and low-level systems knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot across hardware, firmware, drivers, and Android stack.

Responsibilities

• Build, customize, and maintain AOSP environments.
• Develop, modify, and debug Linux/Android kernel and device driver code.
• Integrate and enable new hardware features on Android-based devices.
• Work extensively with Android BSPs, including board bring-up, hardware integration, and platform-level debugging.
• Debug complex issues across the kernel, drivers, HAL, firmware, and hardware/software interface.
• Perform root-cause analysis of system-level and device-level issues.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, platform, and software engineering teams throughout the SDLC.
• Troubleshoot performance, stability, integration, and hardware compatibility issues.
