Job summary

Client is seeking a Digital Android Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for Android development. You will architect and deliver the flagship mobile banking app, mentor engineers, and drive standards across the Android platform.

Lead the modern Android stack with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Coroutines while partnering with product, design, and backend teams to create scalable, high-quality mobile experiences for millions of users worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building native Android apps.
• Expert Kotlin, MVVM, Clean Architecture, and unidirectional data flow.
• Deep knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and the Gradle build system.
• Extensive Jetpack/Compose experience at production scale.
• Experience shipping or maintaining apps on Google Play.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead end-to-end design and development of major features for Client's Android app.
• Act as the primary Android technical authority across the engineering function, using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Coroutines.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, tests, and performance.
• Coach and mentor junior Android engineers to raise team capability and quality.
• Partner with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into mobile experiences.
• Optimize memory, battery, and runtime performance for a smooth user experience.
• Improve development processes, testing strategies, and delivery workflows.
• Assess risk, ensuring security, compliance, and platform reliability.
