Job summary

TALENT Software Services seeks an Android AOSP engineer to design, implement, integrate, and optimize the Android AOSP stack for an in-flight entertainment system. You will translate use cases into platform capabilities across Android, native services, HALs, display and media paths, and system observability.

You will collaborate with product, architecture, validation, security, BSP, QNX/Linux, and hardware teams, partner with chipset vendors, and contribute to CI/CD, tracing, and release

Qualifications

• Extensive experience developing and debugging Android platform software, esp. AOSP framework and native layers.
• Strong C/C++ and Java/Kotlin; proficient with Android build systems, Linux, Git, shell scripting, and Python.
• Deep knowledge of Android architecture, including system services, Binder/AIDL, HALs, init, SELinux, permissions, and memory/graphics.
• Experience integrating Android with vendor BSPs, kernel drivers, SoC platforms, peripherals, or virtualization.
• Ability to profile and optimize embedded or resource-constrained systems with quantitative evidence.
• Experience designing telemetry/observability for embedded platforms with logging, metrics, tracing, and health monitoring.
• Excellent collaboration across distributed teams and external vendors.
• Experience with Android Automotive OS or automotive components for embedded use cases.

Responsibilities

• Design and productize multi-display support for single- and multi-VM configurations.
• Work across WindowManager, DisplayManager, SurfaceFlinger, and related HALs.
• Collaborate with chipset, BSP, QNX/Linux, and applications teams to validate end-to-end display paths.
• Deliver production-quality code with unit, integration, and system-level validation.
• Contribute to CI/CD, reproducible builds, testing, and release readiness.
• Create traceability from requirements through implementation, tests, defects, and metrics.
• Participate in feature planning, estimation, risk management, and lab bring-up.
