Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Manager- Data Analytics to lead cross-functional validation of analytical tools and guide a network of Data Analysts, Quants and Data Scientists.

You will shape enterprise frameworks, plan validation projects and communicate results clearly to business leaders. The ideal candidate has strong problem solving, leadership and communication skills with 5+ years of data analytics and experience mentoring staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a quantitative field with 5+ years of data analytics experience or a Master’s with 5+ years and expected degree completion by start date.
• 5+ years of experience performing professional data analysis work.
• 5+ years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologies.
• 2+ years of experience managing people.

Responsibilities

• Refining a new Enterprise-wide analytical tools validation framework.
• Planning and executing validation projects.
• Assessing quality and risk of analytical tool methodologies across Capital One.
• Understanding technical issues in analytical tools and assessing risks and opportunities.
• Independently researching and prototyping industry best practices for emerging analytical tools.
• Communicating results clearly via validation reports and presentations.
• Leveraging resources to develop solutions to business problems.
• Coaching and mentoring junior staff.
