Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Manager of Data Analytics to lead cross-functional validation of analytical tools and to partner with teams across the company.

You will validate methodologies, communicate results, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of data analytics experience with leadership in open source data technologies, and a Master’s or PhD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field and 5+ years of data analytics experience; advanced degree on or before start date is preferred.
• Experience leading and developing with open source data technologies and large data sets.
• Experience managing people and leading analytics projects in financial services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Refining an Enterprise-wide analytical tools validation framework.
• Planning and executing validation projects for analytical tools.
• Assessing quality and risk of analytical tool methodologies across Capital One.
• Understanding technical issues in analytical tools and assessing risks and opportunities.
• Researching and prototyping industry best practices for analytical tools.
• Communicating results clearly via validation reports and presentations.
• Coaching and mentoring junior staff.
