Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Senior Analyst to independently lead end-to-end analytical initiatives, framing complex problems and delivering executive-ready insights. The role applies advanced analytics, guides decision making, and mentors others to ensure rigor and impact across district analytics.

The Senior Analyst will frame research questions, manage data quality, present findings to senior leadership and external stakeholders, and support long-range planning with forecasting.

Qualifications

• Experience in at least 3 areas: Research, Education, Public Health, Social Policy, Program Evaluation; technical expertise in BI, reporting, dashboards, data science, analytics, and programming.
• Experience with SQL and statistical software.
• Experience creating ad-hoc data-based reports for decision making, including KPIs and dashboards.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex, high impact analytical and research workstreams from framing through delivery.
• Independently frame ambiguous problems by defining research questions, success criteria, and hypotheses.
• Extract and evaluate large, complex datasets ensuring data quality and governance.
• Prepare and present analytical findings to senior leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate data-informed meetings and guide stakeholders through interpretation of findings.
• Ensure accuracy and credibility of analyses and data products while upholding privacy standards.
• Mentor analysts and build district analytic capacity across departments.
• Lead forward-looking analysis and forecasting for long-term district planning.
• Develop training and decision-support tools to strengthen data literacy.
