Job summary

SolarWinds seeks a Senior Manager, Analytics Engineering to lead the migration of our data platform from SQL Server/SSIS to a BigQuery/dbt/CData stack. You will own end-to-end implementation, enforce quality standards, and govern the semantic layer for BI, DS, and DG teams.

You will manage five engineers across Austin, TX and Manila, driving cost optimization, observability, and data contracts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on dbt in production environments.
• BigQuery at production scale with partitioning and cost controls.
• Experience migrating legacy ETL/ELT tools (SSIS, Informatica) to modern stacks.
• 3+ years managing distributed or offshore engineering teams.
• Connector-based ingestion platforms (CData, Fivetran, Airbyte).
• Strong data modeling fundamentals: dimensional modeling/data vault/medallion.
• Cross-functional stakeholder communication with BI, DS, and Governance peers.
• Desirable: dbt semantic layer or MetricFlow for governed metrics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end platform migration from SSIS to BigQuery/dbt/CData.
• Define migration quality standards and track SLAs.
• Architect and govern the dbt project structure and semantic layer.
• Manage CData Sync configurations and ingestion reliability.
• Optimize BigQuery costs through partitioning, clustering, and reservations.
• Provide data engineering leadership across Austin and Manila teams.
• Collaborate with BI, Data Science, and Governance leaders on data contracts.
