Job summary

Finom is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer for Operations to own end-to-end data, the underlying model, metrics, and trust in business reporting. You’ll influence processes beyond dashboards, partnering with TRI and Data & Analytics to build trustworthy data products.

You’ll develop the Operations data model, work with stakeholders, and push for self-service data while shaping the central metric architecture and governance practices.

Qualifications

• You've worked as an analytics engineer or senior analyst on technical data modeling projects on a modern data platform (Databricks, Spark, or dbt).
• You write excellent SQL for analytical work and can pick up Python for anything SQL doesn’t cover.
• You’re confident gathering requirements directly from operational stakeholders and turning ambiguous asks into clean, documented metrics.
• You default to precision over speed when Operations data feeds regulatory and financial reporting.
• You can reconcile two stakeholders’ definitions of the same metric and pick a consistent one.
• You think beyond the metric to the process it describes and identify tools or automation to remove real work.
• You have a high level of autonomy and self-direction; you decide what needs fixing, not just how to measure it.
• AI-assisted workflows and tools are part of how you work, not a novelty.

Responsibilities

• Own the Operations data model — reconciliation, treasury, payments, lifecycle, and onboarding → turn raw events into trustworthy data products on the DWH.
• Partner with Operations stakeholders on day-to-day questions, ad hoc requests, and recurring reporting, pushing routine questions toward self‑service.
• Look past the metric to the process behind it and identify manual or fragile handoffs as problems to solve.
• Define and maintain key metrics for reconciliation accuracy, treasury positions, payment success/failure, and onboarding conversion within central metric architecture.
• Participate in data quality and governance practices for the domain.
• Bring process and product ideas to the table and help implement changes, not just report numbers.
