C3 Industries in Chicago seeks a Senior Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise data models powering reporting across Retail, Cultivation, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Finance. You will transform raw data into governed, reusable models in Snowflake and move business logic out of disparate reports.

The role emphasizes hands-on data modeling, collaboration with analysts and stakeholders, and mentoring on SQL, data quality, and transformation best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IS/Analytics/Engineering.
• 4+ years building production data models and pipelines in a cloud data warehouse; Snowflake preferred, BigQuery a plus.
• Advanced SQL, including window functions, performance tuning, and incremental processing patterns.
• Experience with dbt or equivalent transformation framework and ingestion tools like Airbyte, dlt, or Fivetran.
• Power BI experience including semantic models and DAX; exposure to Fabric/Looker/Sigma is a plus.
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows, code review, and CI/CD for data.
• Python or similar scripting for pipelines and automation.
• Clear written documentation habits and ability to work with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Snowflake transformation models for reporting across Retail, Cultivation, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Finance.
• Refactor business logic from Power BI datasets into governed, tested warehouse models.
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines and consolidate data into Snowflake.
• Define a consistent modeling approach with naming standards, grain, and conformed dimensions.
• Implement automated data quality tests and monitor their results; own remediation.
• Document models and lineage for self-serve analytics.
• Translate reporting requirements into durable data models in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Support semantic layer and BI tooling; evaluate new platform tools like Fabric, dbt, and Sigma.
• Cross-train with the team and mentor analysts on SQL and data quality.
