Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics team and help build the data foundation that powers decisions across Finance, Go-to-Market, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.

You will own core data models and pipelines using dbt, SQL, and modern ELT practices, mentor teammates, and partner with stakeholders to translate needs into trusted data products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or related field.
• Proven success leading cross-functional data initiatives from problem to impact.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong dbt experience.
• Hands-on with ELT tooling and data quality practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP), BigQuery, and BI tools.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience applying AI to analytics workflows with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve analytics platform components: models, pipelines, semantics, and self-service reporting.
• Build scalable data models, transformations, and trusted data sources.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate needs into solutions.
• Develop dashboards and tools to enable self-service data usage.
• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of data products: design, test, deploy, and govern.
• Improve ELT reliability, observability, and data quality across the stack.
• Establish data modeling standards, governance, and access controls.
• Mentor junior analysts, perform code reviews, and share patterns.
• Shape the Analytics function roadmap with automation and platform investments.
