Job summary

Ibotta, Inc. is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer in Denver, CO, a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office. You will design and run scalable data pipelines, own data infrastructure and governance, and enable self-service analytics across product and business teams.

You will establish standards, mentor teammates, and collaborate with Data Engineering to optimize ETL and warehouse environments. Experience with Databricks, Looker/LookML, Airflow, and AI tooling is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Analytics, Data, or Software Engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Analytics, Statistics, Economics or related field
• Hands-on experience building production pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark, Airflow and cloud data warehouses (Databricks preferred)
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, data validation, and anomaly detection
• Proven ability to establish self-service patterns, set engineering standards, mentor team members, and manage cross-functional priorities in an Agile environment
• Proficiency with Databricks (DABs), Looker/LookML, Airflow, and GitHub Enterprise for rapid autonomy

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and orchestrate production data pipelines powering dashboards and analytics processes
• Manage data infrastructure including Databricks, Airflow, and migrations; work independently where possible
• Own tracking event sources and build rollup tables for events and business metrics
• Implement engineering best practices to deliver quality, curated data sets
• Stand up CI/CD and automated testing for analytics code and pipelines
• Own data quality, reliability, governance including schema validation and data contracts
• Optimize and aggregate raw data for downstream users in DS and BI
• Build and maintain Looker/LookML dashboards used for orchestration
• Mentor teammates on engineering standards and self-service patterns
• Coordinate with stakeholders across the org to prioritize requests and enable the team
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to streamline ETL and warehouse environment
• Foster data literacy and democratize data strategy across the company
• Integrate AI into engineering workflows (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, Databricks Genie)
• Monitor, maintain, and modernize data services
