Job summary

Machinify is hiring a Senior Data Engineer (Analytics) to turn messy operational data into certified models and actionable metrics. You’ll collaborate with finance, operations, and client teams, building a governed semantic layer and real-time dashboards.

You will own the visualization layer with Power BI, participate in dbt and SQL work, and drive observability, quality checks, and documentation in a fast, remote, Slack-first environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in analytics or BI engineering with production ownership.
• Expert SQL and dimensional modeling instincts.
• Hands-on with cloud lakehouse or warehouse (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Experience building and validating models and metrics for business use.
• Strong writing and ability to document definitions and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery with business stakeholders to define acceptance criteria.
• Model noisy healthcare operational data into governed dimensional models.
• Own metric definitions and ensure single source of truth.
• Develop Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and paginated reports.
• Own observability: data freshness, anomaly detection, and CI checks.
• Design dbt Cloud jobs and Airflow DAGs for reliable pipelines.
• Create design docs and knowledge base for handoff.
• Automate recurring work with AI-assisted workflows.
