Job summary

White & Case is seeking a Senior Analyst, Tax to join our Global Tax & Compliance function in a fast-paced environment. You will manage the Firm’s US tax filings and oversee partner taxes across 30+ countries, ensuring local compliance and timely reporting.

You will prepare schedules, K-1s, quarterly estimates, and assist with FBAR/foreign tax reporting, working with colleagues in the US and overseas to deliver accurate, high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • 4 year college degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in public and/or private accounting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written/verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Excel & Word; knowledge of tax software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare partnership tax returns for all jurisdictions.
  • Maintain tax documentation and capital accounts; prepare K-1s.
  • Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions.
  • Review non-income tax returns and schedules; assist foreign tax reporting.
  • Collaborate with US and global teams to ensure timely, accurate tax work.

Our Finance team is responsible for ensuring accurate financial operations and plays a crucial role in managing the Firm’s financial health. Our team handles a wide range of financial activities including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, partner compensation, payroll, treasury and cash flow management to support the Firm’s strategic goals. We are responsible for inventory management including billing and collections, and analysis of client, matter and timekeeper profitability. We oversee statutory accounting and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Finance team also prepares financial statements, reports and analysis to provide insights into the Firm’s financial performance. We work closely with other functions to monitor expenses, optimize financial processes and implement cost-saving initiatives. Through meticulous financial management and strategic planning, the Finance team ensures the Firm’s financial stability and supports its growth objectives.Position SummaryThe Senior Analyst, Tax is an integral part of our Global Tax & Compliance function. This function prepares the Firm’s US tax filings, manages the payment of the Partners’ taxes in the 30+ countries in which the Firm operates, and works with management to ensure the Firm and each of its offices is in compliance with the relevant local tax rules. The Tax Team handles all annual and quarterly reporting of tax information to the Firm’s partners worldwide, provides information to the Firm’s non-US offices for local tax filings, and monitors tax compliance in every country in which the Firm operates.The Senior Analyst, Tax is involved in all aspects of tax compliance, partner tax and capital accounts reconciliations and other related analysis and reporting. Senior Analyst, Tax interacts and helps colleagues and stakeholders in the U.S. as well as in global offices of the Firm to deliver timely work product with highest quality and accuracy. They help others within the tax team and beyond to deepen their expertise, share knowledge, and upskill. This position requires an ability to work independently and diligently in a fast-paced, global and dynamic environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and strong communication skills are essential.Duties and AccountabilitiesPrepare various schedules and work papers in the preparation of Firms Partnership Tax Returns (All Jurisdictions)Maintain the Firm’s legal entities and tax organizational chartsAnalyze transactions and prepare work papers for book to tax differencesPrepare and or review non-income tax returns and related schedules (insurance, property tax, sales tax)Work and supervise Tax Team Members in preparation of Partners K-1’s and all supporting spread-sheetsReview various checklists and account reconciliations as prepared by other Tax Team members such as forms and elections, charitable contributions, membership fees and partner costs schedules.Provide Quarterly and Year-end Tax Estimates to the PartnersCalculate quarterly estimated tax payments and tax extensions as requiredGather information as requested by non-US offices for foreign tax reportingSubmit tax payments to Manila for AP ProcessingPrepare journal entries to record tax liabilities on the partner’s accounts receivableAssist in preparation of capital account reporting to partnersHelp maintain documentation of all tax issues/guidelinesAssist in preparation of Firm’s Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) filingsAssist with gathering data from foreign offices on foreign tax payments and assist in preparation of foreign tax schedules for quarterly and year end reporting to partners.Prepare or review partner cash flow statements and departure calculations as requested.Communicate with accountants regularly for accuracy of monthly reporting when necessary in analyzing tax issuesPerform special projects as requested by management, partners and accountantsQualifications4 Year College Degree with Major in Accounting or Finance3-5 years’ experience in public and/or private accountingExcellent interpersonal skillsTeam playerGood communication skills both oral and writtenStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficient in Excel & WordKnowledge of 3E system preferred but not a must (will train)Experience with Alteryx, AI or other automation tools preferredTax software a plus (Insource and/or PWC partax)Ability to handle a deadline oriented environment; work well under pressureHighly motivated, assertive and proactiveCustomer-service orientedStrong work ethicEssential Job RequirementsS trong academic record and intellectual curiosity, creative thinkerCommercial and business awarenessAbility to see the big pictureOutstanding communication skillsStrong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple tasksClient service focusTeam playerStrong judgmentProactive, resourceful, takes initiativeExperience working in a professional services environmentFlexible, committed and enthusiastic.Attention to detail.Exposure to client relationship management would be advantageous.Influencing and negotiating skills.Good systems and database skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM applications.Team player.Client-focused approach.Creative and strategic mindset.Ability to work on own initiative.Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.This role reports toSenior Manager, TaxEqual OpportunitiesWhite & Case is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and is committed to creating a fair workplace.
