Staff or Senior Tax Associate

We are seeking an individual who enjoys engaging with a cohesive team and has a desire to participate in all aspects of the tax department. This role is responsible for assisting with tax compliance, tax provision, and special project work streams. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with an ability to work diligently, striving for loyalty and reliability. We welcome team members who want to learn and enhance process efficiencies. This is a hybrid role based at our corporate office in Irving, Texas, working 2 days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of consolidated US federal and state income tax returns using OneSource Income Tax Software.
• Calculation and preparation of estimated state tax payments/vouchers and return extensions.
• Completion of state income tax apportionment analysis and related schedules.
• Responding to state tax notices and assisting with state tax audits.
• Assisting with quarterly income tax provision calculations and year-end tax provision matters using OneSource Tax Provision software (e.g., book-to-tax differences, deferred tax analysis, state taxes payable, return-to-provision comparison, effective state rate analysis, etc.).
• Researching various technical topics and participating in special tax projects.
• Reviewing and updating the company's OneSource NexGen Tax Calendar to ensure timely filing of all items.
• Staying informed of current tax laws, regulations, and practices.
• Assisting with ongoing process improvement initiatives.
• Providing input to enhance output and improve efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Two to three years of experience preparing consolidated income tax returns.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Skilled in OneSource Income Tax software.
• Exposure to OneSource Tax Provision Software is helpful.
• Working knowledge of Checkpoint or similar tax research software.
• Ability to complete tasks independently, competently, and in a timely manner.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and business stakeholders.
