Ally Financial, based in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with Shared Services FP&A, supporting Human Resources and Risk. You will lead month-end close, forecasts, variance analyses, and provide actionable insights to executives.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in Finance, a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills. This role offers on-site/hybrid work and a robust Total Rewards program.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual long-range plan and forecasting development for Human Resources and Risk.
• Develop financial projections for operating expenses, headcount, vendor spend, and initiatives.
• Analyze forecast trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions.
• Own month-end close reporting packages and executive summaries.
• Serve as primary finance partner for HR and Risk leadership teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency.

This role is responsible for leading month-end reporting, forecast development, variance analysis, and executive management reporting. The analyst will provide actionable financial insights, ensure forecast accuracy, identify risks and opportunities, and support business leaders in achieving financial and operational objectives. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, executive presence, financial acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations.The Work ItselfFinancial Planning & ForecastingLead annual long-range plan and forecasting development for Human Resources and Risk organizations.Develop financial projections for operating expenses, headcount, vendor spend, and strategic initiatives.Analyze forecast trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.Partner with business leaders to understand changing business assumptions and incorporate impacts into forecasts.Month-End Reporting & AnalysisOwn month-end close reporting packages and executive summaries.Analyze actual results against forecast, budget, and prior year performance.Deliver timely insights to finance leadership and supported business partners.Business PartnershipServe as the primary finance partner for Human Resources and Risk leadership teams.Challenge assumptions and provide data-driven recommendations to improve financial outcomes.Support business case development and investment analyses.Process Improvement & GovernanceIdentify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and financial processes.Support automation and standardization initiatives across Shared Services FP&A.Document and maintain forecasting methodologies and reporting processes.The Qualifications We’re Looking For3+ years previous work experience in Finance or related field preferred.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required.Advanced degree or CPA/CFA (or working toward) preferred.Proven track record of driving for results with minimal ongoing direction.Attention to detail balanced with knowing the right altitude necessary to deliver on requirements.Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiative.Ability to work in a complex matrix organization and to operate in ambiguity.Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, if / then analysis) and MS PowerPoint skills required.Minimum Qualifications3+ years of experienceHigh school Diploma or GED equivalentHow We'll Have Your BackAlly's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
