Job summary

Ally Financial offers an 11-week technology internship that bridges academia and industry, exposing you to diverse teams across the country. You will interact with leadership and gain hands-on experience in data analysis, security practices, and cross-functional collaboration within Technology.

Rising juniors or seniors pursuing a CS or related major will work on real projects, using Python, SQL, Snowflake and AWS, while receiving mentorship and opportunities for growth within Ally.

Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior in a full-time undergraduate program.
• Majoring in computer science or related technical field.
• Moderate understanding of Python or SQL.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship from the company now or in the future.
• Previous tech internship experience or relevant tech project work is preferred.

Throughout the duration of the 11-week program, you'll have the ability to hone your skills in analytical thinking, data analysis, and cross function communication to name a few.Typically, interns are matched with a specific team and manager in mid-spring. Doing so offers the ability to assign program participants to real-time, business critical needs. You could be on an AI & Analytics team on one of our technology pillar groups such as…EDA: Enterprise Data & AnalyticsResponsible for Ally's critical data assets, including key business data warehouses and analytics and reporting platforms. In addition, EDA is the driver of Nucleus, Ally's transformational enterprise data warehouse to develop an integrated data and analytics ecosystem, leverage data as an asset, and position Ally for accelerated revenue growth and innovation.Some examples of previous works/projects throughout multiple teams within EDA include but not limited to:Centralized data platform for enterprise-wide analyticsAI & ML Platform development for the enterpriseLarge Language Model (LLM) development for AI use casesLOB strategic initiatives' data developmentLegacy data warehouse migrationsETA: Enterprise Technology & ArchitectureFrom network services to server management, the ETA team ensures enterprise-wide technology operates smoothly and efficiently to provide an always-on experience. Provides an optimal technology experience for Ally’s external customers and internal stakeholders, with a focus on cloud acceleration/engineering, AI ops, and self-healing technology.
