Job summary

Thrivent Financial in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Senior Analyst for Private Asset Fund Operations to support private equity, real estate, debt and asset-backed portfolios with accounting, valuations, reporting and analysis.

The role partners with internal and external stakeholders, drives GAAP processes, audits, and strategic initiatives while upholding Thrivent's purpose and commitment to clients. This on-site role requires presence in Minneapolis at least three days a week.

Qualifications

• Attainment of MBA, CFA or CPA designation.
• Experience with private fund audits and private fund financial reporting processes.
• Experience working with leading private asset systems or fund administration/custody functions.
• Proven success in executing on end-to-end private asset processes.
• Ability to prioritize work against enterprise, division, and product strategies; can effectively communicate rationale and impact for prioritization choices.
• Advanced skills in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintains internal private asset fund operations for Thrivent’s private asset portfolios (functions include accounting, valuations, management reporting, performance, ownership structure analysis, distributions, cash monitoring).
• Assists with annual GAAP audits and tax preparation.
• Engages in bringing industry best practices and internal requirements to vendor and professional service relationships that handle the following functions - Fund Administration, External Audits, Tax Management, Portfolio Monitoring, Custodial Banking and Accounting Software.
• Engages frequently with internal and external legal counsel regarding investment and fund legal issues.
• Provides analysis to internal senior stakeholders for investment performance, surplus management, statutory financial reporting, and assists with Portfolio Manager and legal requested analysis.
