Thrivent Financial in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Senior Analyst for Private Asset Fund Operations to support private equity, real estate, debt and asset-backed portfolios with accounting, valuations, reporting and analysis.

The role partners with internal and external stakeholders, drives GAAP processes, audits, and strategic initiatives while upholding Thrivent's purpose and commitment to clients. This on-site role requires presence in Minneapolis at least three days a week.

Qualifications

• Attainment of MBA, CFA or CPA designation.
• Experience with private fund audits and private fund financial reporting processes.
• Experience working with leading private asset systems or fund administration/custody functions.
• Proven success in executing on end-to-end private asset processes.
• Ability to prioritize work against enterprise, division, and product strategies; can effectively communicate rationale and impact for prioritization choices.
• Advanced skills in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintains internal private asset fund operations for Thrivent’s private asset portfolios (functions include accounting, valuations, management reporting, performance, ownership structure analysis, distributions, cash monitoring).
• Assists with annual GAAP audits and tax preparation.
• Engages in bringing industry best practices and internal requirements to vendor and professional service relationships that handle the following functions - Fund Administration, External Audits, Tax Management, Portfolio Monitoring, Custodial Banking and Accounting Software.
• Engages frequently with internal and external legal counsel regarding investment and fund legal issues.
• Provides analysis to internal senior stakeholders for investment performance, surplus management, statutory financial reporting, and assists with Portfolio Manager and legal requested analysis.

The Private Asset Fund Operations Senior Analyst is a multi-discipline role which encompasses investment and accounting knowledge in support of Thrivent’s Private Equity, Private Equity Real Estate, Private Debt, Private High Yield, and Private Asset Backed portfolios. The Private Asset Fund Operations Senior Analyst displays an understanding of private asset fund operations and is an experienced contributor to daily private asset fund operations (accounting, reporting, valuations, cash monitoring). The position is responsible for providing a wide range of portfolio and security‑level investment reporting, analysis, valuation, and accounting as part of the private asset operational support team. This role engages in analysis for surplus management, statutory financial reporting, and assists with portfolio management analytical requests.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Assists with annual GAAP audits and tax preparation. Engages in bringing industry best practices and internal requirements to vendor and professional service relationships that handle the following functions - Fund Administration, External Audits, Tax Management, Portfolio Monitoring, Custodial Banking and Accounting Software. Engages frequently with internal and external legal counsel regarding investment and fund legal issues. Provides analysis to internal senior stakeholders for investment performance, surplus management, statutory financial reporting, and assists with Portfolio Manager and legal requested analysis. Consultation, analysis and inform on private asset issues with the Private Asset Fund Operations Consultant & Manager. Assists with strategic initiatives supporting Thrivent’s Private Equity portfolio. Provides analysis on external sub‑advised private equity managers and reports financial and surplus impact to senior investment division leadership. Job Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related discipline. 3-7 years finance and accounting experience. Ability and eagerness to work collaboratively in a team environment. High level of organization and attention to detail. Passion for and understanding of new technology and trends. Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills among all organizational levels.

Additional Information

This position requires you to work on‑site in Minneapolis, MN a minimum of three days a week.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full‑time role is 103,828.00 - 140,472.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
