Position Overview
Reporting into FP&A Leadership, the Senior Analyst/Manager – Revenue & Commercial Analytics is a highly visible role responsible for helping Universal Plant Services turn commercial activity into clear, actionable business insight.
This position sits at the intersection of Sales, Operations, Marketing, and FP&A and is responsible for building the tracking, reporting, forecasting, and analytical processes that help leadership understand where revenue is coming from, where risks are developing, and where the organization should focus next.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, intellectually curious, and exceptionally strong at organizing commercial data into meaningful performance measures. This person will own pipeline and revenue tracking, CRM data quality, forecasting and KPI reporting, proposal analytics, and commercial performance insights.
Success in this role means creating a reliable view of the business from opportunity through quote, purchase order, bookings, and ultimately revenue – giving leadership confidence in the numbers and serving as the analytical partner who helps teams make faster, better-informed decisions.
- Reconcile Salesforce opportunities with business-unit quote logs, purchase orders, and job records to identify duplicates, missing links, and timing differences.
- Build and maintain repeatable Excel and Power BI reporting that connects pipeline, authorized work, bookings, backlog and revenue.
- Track whether opportunities included in the beginning-of-period forecast converted, moved to a later period, or fell out of the forecast.
- Help standardize commercial information currently tracked through fragmented spreadsheets, quote logs, and other workflows.
- Lead the cross-functional investigation and resolution of discrepancies across commercial and financial reporting; identify root causes and establish repeatable controls to prevent double-counting, omissions, and inconsistent reporting.
- Own the tracking and reporting of pipeline, bookings, and expected revenue across business units.
- Measure how sales activity converts into opportunities, proposals, bookings, and revenue.
- Track the full commercial funnel from opportunity to quote to purchase order to bookings to revenue.
- Analyze conversion rates, pipeline movement, aging, probability, and timing to identify trends and potential revenue gaps.
- Establish consistent definitions for pipeline stages, forecast categories, probabilities, and commercial KPIs.
- Provide weekly reporting on pipeline movement, activity, conversion, and stalled opportunities.
- Improve visibility into the timing and quality of future revenue.
Forecasting & Performance Tracking
- Lead the weekly pipeline review process.
- Consolidate commercial forecasts with Operations and FP&A to improve revenue planning.
- Develop reporting that distinguishes between committed, probable, and longer-term revenue opportunities.
- Support monthly and quarterly bookings and revenue reviews for executive leadership and Board reporting.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and scorecards that provide a clear view of commercial performance.
- Track measures such as pipeline coverage, bookings, revenue outlook, opportunity conversion, quote conversion, win rate, sales activity, forecast accuracy, proposal cycle time, margin trends, and customer and market penetration.
- Analyze performance by salesperson, account, geography, business unit, service line, and end market.
- Translate data into concise insights, trends, and recommended actions for leadership.
- Support market sizing and maintenance-spending estimates using facility data, installed equipment, industry benchmarks, and other external sources, documenting key assumptions and limitations.
- Research into industrial end markets, including refining, chemicals, pipelines, and power generation to identify demand for UPS services
- Continuously improve reporting so teams spend less time compiling information and more time acting on it.
CRM Data Quality & Adoption
- Ensure CRM systems accurately reflect current opportunities, customer activity, expected timing, probability, and commercial outcomes.
- Monitor CRM completeness and accuracy and work with Sales leadership to improve adoption.
- Develop and maintain CRM reports and data-quality controls that support pipeline management, forecasting and commercial-performance reporting.
- Partner with IT and Business Systems to improve Tracking functionality, reporting, and integrations without creating unnecessary administrative burden for the field.
- Support Finance and Sales leadership in setting sales targets and quotas; lead the tracking and reporting of individual and team performance against those targets and other commercial KPIs and provide analytical support for incentive compensation calculations.
- Develop clear, auditable reporting that gives employees and leadership confidence in performance and compensation results.
