Job summary

MPI in Houston seeks a development professional with 2+ years of real estate experience to underwrite multifamily and commercial opportunities, build detailed financial models, conduct market research, and support transactions from acquisition through execution.

You will coordinate due diligence, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration with development, design, construction, and asset management teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate development, acquisitions, investments, capital markets, or commercial real estate analysis.
  • Strong financial modeling, underwriting, valuation, and market research capabilities.
  • Experience evaluating development opportunities, conducting due diligence, and supporting transactions from acquisition through execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to build and maintain complex financial models; familiarity with Argus and Microsoft PowerPoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate new development and acquisition opportunities.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and feasibility studies to support investment decisions.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities, including third-party reports, zoning reviews, entitlement tracking, and regulatory analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of investment committee materials, lender packages, and equity partner presentations.
  • Support project budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and ongoing financial performance tracking.
  • Work cross-functionally with development, design, construction, and asset management teams to drive project execution.
  • Monitor project milestones, identify risks, and provide recommendations to help ensure developments are delivered on schedule and within budget.
