Job summary

PSP Investments | Investissements PSP is seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate, Credit Investments, to analyze and underwrite private credit opportunities. The role involves building financial models, performing due diligence, and drafting investment memoranda for decisions.

Strong Excel skills and English communication are essential. The team monitors portfolio performance and collaborates with Legal, Risk and Tax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or comparable discipline with strong academic standing.
• Two to four years of relevant experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, private credit, credit research or buy-side investing; depth/breadth reflected in level.
• Strong financial modelling, investment judgement, accounting analysis and valuation skills.
• High attention to detail, presentation skills, strong organization and ability to manage priorities.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Direct lending or credit investing experience is an asset.
• CPA/CA, MBA and/or CFA progress or completion is an asset.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary analysis of CI investment opportunities including reviews of equity, fixed income, ratings, and public information.
• Participate in due diligence, identify key merits/risks, meet with management, review data-room documents and third-party reports.
• Lead in building and reviewing detailed financial models and running multiple scenarios.
• Assist in drafting commitment papers and legal documents.
• Prepare investment recommendation memorandums for decisions and present to Investment Committee.
• Interface with Legal, Risk, and Tax groups in investment reviews.
• At Associate level, manage defined transaction workstreams and guide junior team members.
