Job summary

Vanguard seeks an experienced analytics leader to drive enterprise initiatives from business questions to actionable insights. You will partner with internal teams, translate requirements into analytic projects, and guide complex initiatives to completion.

You will gather data from multiple sources, establish data quality standards, and apply advanced analytics including predictive modeling. You will create expert visualizations for senior leaders and mentor the analytics community, helping

Qualifications

• Eight years of related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Strong technical skills including coding and applying new analytical methods/technologies.
• Experience with testing methodologies and experimentation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and persuasiveness through data.

Responsibilities

• Engages with internal partners to understand business strategy, translate requirements into an analytical project approach, and lead complex projects to completion; serves as analytics expert on cross-functional teams.
• Acquires and compiles structured and unstructured data; develops data quality standards and measurement tools.
• Performs analyses of data from multiple sources to surface trends using advanced methods and machine learning; validates techniques.
• Delivers expert visualizations and presentations translating analytics into actionable solutions for senior leaders.
• Develops and manages recurring analytic or reporting processes; mentors on data visualization best practices.
• Develops the analytics community at Vanguard by mentoring, coaching and sharing resources; stays abreast of trends.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The ideal candidate:

• Identifies and champions opportunities to apply new analytical methods or technologies to internal use cases.
• Processes i ndustry leading expertise in one or more technical domains (e.g., Python, advanced analytics, experimental design & execution) with broad applied experience.
• Has e xperience applying advanced analytical techniques in a workplace setting (e.g. predictive modeling)
• Demonstrated d esire & ability to collaborate closely with our business partners to consult & gather requirements
• Experience in developing and managing an analytical road map and learning agenda(s)
• Considered thought leader in product domain. Considered an expert by others across CDAO & Vanguard.

Core Responsibilities

Delegates tasks and provides tactical and strategic guidance to peers. Serves as the analytics expert on cross-functional teams for enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
• Acquires and compiles structured and unstructured data and verifies its quality, accuracy and reasonableness. Leads the development of data quality standards, and the tools and methods used to measure and improve data quality.
• Performs analyses of data from multiple sources to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods and machine learning. Validates analytical techniques employed by other analysts.
• Prepares and delivers expert level visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for senior leader stakeholders to implement.
• Develops, owns and manages recurring analytic or reporting processes. Demonstrates expertise in data visualization and mentors analysts on data visualization best practices.
• Develops the analytics community at Vanguard by mentoring, coaching and connecting others with resources and training. Stays abreast of emerging trends and external best practices. Participates and presents during scheduled analytics seminars.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
• Strong technical skills, inclusive of coding and applying new analytical methods/technologies to use cases
• Experience with testing methodologies and experimentation (test design, results gathering and recommendations build out)
• Excellent stakeholder management and persuasiveness through data
