Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Senior Analyst for Category Management to support the Category Management organization in achieving its goals by overseeing projects, analyzing data and coordinating with Category Managers in day-to-day activities.

Based in Glenview, IL, this hybrid role offers exposure to cross‑functional teams, opportunities to influence pricing strategies, supplier relationships, and marketing collateral while delivering insights from large data sets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in sales, marketing or similar roles.
  • Previous experience in the electrical distribution market is a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and detail-oriented.
  • Team first mentality with a positive/can-do attitude.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Good PC skills including office applications such as Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or Support Category Management projects and initiatives.
  • Engage and Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales, Marketing, and with Supplier partners.
  • Review Associate and Analyst work, when applicable.
  • Evaluate large data sets, identify trends, solicit feedback, and propose solutions with business impact.
  • Take guidance on standard cost strategy to maintain costs by product group, categories, geographies, etc.
  • Analyze repeat non-stock orders and recommend new part numbers.
  • Create/Update/Withdraw existing part numbers.
  • Develop an e-commerce pricing strategy and execute with the digital team.
  • Help manage relationships with key suppliers.
  • Identify cost improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in development of marketing collateral.
  • Collect and maintain product information, including specifications and images.

Senior Analyst - Category Management, you will support the Category Management organization in achieving its goals by overseeing various projects and participating in team and product initiatives. The individual in this role will work closely with Category Managers in day-to-day activities, including report gathering, report analysis, meeting preparations and supporting various processes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead or Support Category Management projects and initiatives.
  • Engage and Collaborate as needed with other internal departments such as Sales, Marketing, etc as well as with Supplier partners.
  • Review Associate and Analyst work, when applicable.
  • Effectively evaluate large sets of data, identify trends, proactively solicit feedback from others and recommend solutions while understanding business impact.
  • Taking direction from the Category Managers on standard cost strategy to maintain costs by product group, categories, geographies, individual part number, etc.
  • Analyze repeat non-stock orders and recommend creation & stocking of new part numbers.
  • Create/Update/Withdraw existing part numbers.
  • Take guidance from the Category Managers on their products, develop an e-commerce pricing strategy and execute that with the digital team.
  • Help manage a tactical relationship with key suppliers.
  • Identify product / process cost improvement opportunities.
  • Assist the Category Managers in the development of marketing collateral.
  • Assist in the collection and maintenance of product information, including product specifications, product images, and additional product content.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Compensation Details

$81,753 - $138,980 Annually

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan,subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.

In addition, Wesco offers abenefits program for eligible employees, which may include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and retirement savings plans.
