Job summary

Broadcom Inc. is seeking an Analog IC Validation engineer to define, develop, and execute tests ensuring Broadcom products meet standards and perform in applications.

You will work with analog, digital, firmware, and board teams in a lab environment, building test features for evaluation and production cards, and debugging complex signal integrity issues. The role emphasizes collaboration, automation with Python, and hands-on validation across pre/post-silicon phases, including test equipment

Qualifications

• US work authorization is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related work experience in analog validation.
• Strong understanding of transmission line theory and high-speed I/O.
• Experience with jitter and EMI sources.
• Experience using VNAs, TDRs, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Python programming with C and MATLAB familiarity.
• Automation of test scripts, preferably in Python.
• Experience with SPICE/ADS and IBIS-AMI models.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect characterization procedures to meet SAS, SATA, PCIe, NVMe, DDR4, and Onfi standards.
• Review and execute robust validation test plans on prototype silicon.
• Collaborate with firmware, high-speed I/O, and digital IC teams in pre/post-silicon validation.
• Develop Python scripts to control test equipment and automate tasks.
• Create host software tools for low-level system validation.
• Develop SI simulation models for customer use.
• Work with board development to define evaluation board tests.
• Identify and resolve signal quality issues from layout of cards.
• Support design partners with bring-up and signal integrity issues.
• Drive debugging and resolution at the system level; propose workarounds.
• Present technical information to engineering teams; educate FAEs on features.
• Collaborate with publications on engineering notes and manuals.
