Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Refrigeration Project Engineer to lead CAPEX ammonia refrigeration projects across corporate sites. You will oversee budgeting, scope development, system design, contractor management and project close-out while ensuring safe and efficient operation of refrigeration systems.

Candidates should have comprehensive experience in design, construction, and operation of industrial ammonia refrigeration and thermodynamic systems, with AutoCAD and P&ID literacy, and the ability

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration design, construction and operation.
• Familiarity with OSHA PSM, IIAR and ASHRAE codes is essential.
• Willingness to travel frequently and manage projects across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, budgeting, scope creation and contractor execution of ammonia refrigeration projects from inception to close-out.
• Design high-efficiency refrigeration systems including equipment selection, pipe sizing and system controls.
• Ensure all designs and constructions comply with OSHA PSM, RMP, IIAR and ASHRAE standards.
• Participate in PHAs, MOC, and root cause investigations for ammonia leaks.
• Perform thermodynamic calculations including heat loads, ventilation, and mass/energy balances.
• Travel to facility sites to oversee construction and audit programs.
