Job summary

Index Search is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Engineer to design and support industrial refrigeration systems across ammonia, CO₂, and Freon applications. This role blends hands-on engineering with cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, efficient, and fully compliant system designs.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience, strong thermodynamics knowledge, and a proven ability to translate concepts into real-world solutions, from design through execution.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience (refrigeration, HVAC, or process systems preferred).
• Strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems and mechanical components.
• Familiarity with engineering codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Solid problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial refrigeration systems and key components (compressors, vessels, evaporators, condensers, piping, and valves).
• Perform engineering calculations related to load, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow.
• Develop and review P&IDs, system layouts, and technical documentation.
• Select and specify equipment based on performance and project requirements.
• Partner with project managers, CAD teams, vendors, and field staff to execute projects successfully.
• Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
• Maintain documentation for PSM and RMP requirements.
