Job summary

Athens‑Clarke County is seeking a Supervisor to lead AMI water meter installation and repair operations. The role includes supervising a crew, coordinating installation, repair, and maintenance of AMI infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

The incumbent will manage field technicians, respond to meter-related issues, and coordinate with public utilities to ensure accurate readings and reliable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of experience involving water meter installation and repair.
• Associate's/Technical/Vocational degree in a related discipline preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates AMI Technician I(s) and assigns work, counseling, and performance appraisals.
• Oversees repair and installation of AMI water meters from 3/4" to 8".
• Maintains AMI interface units and network connectivity; troubleshoots two-way communications.
• Monitors and reports illegal meter tampering; records daily activities.
• Represents ACC PUD with residential and business communities and coordinates repairs and installations.
